DARCY & BRONTE

DARCY & BRONTE
12” x 12” Oil on board

We got this shot during a photoshoot in Jephson Gardens back in the summer (hence the panting tongues!)…Bronte was determined not to look into the camera in any of the photos but this one where their profile is the same angle works perfectly for a double portrait. It’s fun to find different ways of fitting 2 dogs into the frame.

I will be teaching workshops in different locations next year called ‘Pet Portraits with Personailty’. Working ‘alla prima’ in oil paint we will look at ways of applying the paint in a dynamic and interesting way: focusing on colour, brushwork and composition. See the ‘Workshops’ tab for more details.
