‘THE BLUE BRIDGE’ Plein Air Painting
8” x 8” Oil on board
It may have been just 4 degrees but it felt warmer with the sun on my back…Just to my left is a slope leading down to the river known as ‘The Elephant Wash’…in 1895 Leamington was home to three circus elephants known as "The Three Graces": Wilhelmina, Trilby and Haddie who used to bathe daily in the waters to the left of my painting! ‘The Mill Suspension Bridge’ is an iconic landmark in Leamington, spanning the ‘River Leam’, built around 1900.
