I have quite a large collection of jugs and I realised something whilst painting this...all of mine are displayed with the handle on the rhs! ...as a right-handed person it looks kind of awkward and uninviting to see a jug with its handle on the left- So this painting is for all you ‘lefties’ out there!!
I will be teaching a workshop on 7 October @micklemsfarmcreativeworkshops called ‘Mind the Gap’. We will be painting a small group of climbing flowers such as Clematis or Roses. Working ‘alla prima’ in oil paint we will focus on leaving bits of our under-painting peeking through. We will look at ways of applying the paint in a dynamic and interesting way: focusing on colour, brushwork and composition.
