I can’t think of a better excuse to finish a bottle of gin - can you??
The gin bottle was perfect for holding the stem vertically and allowing me to paint the flowers in profile.
I took a more considered approach to this one mixing up two ‘tonal strings’ for the flowers - one of a warm (purple) greys for the flower facing the light and one of cool (blue) greys for the flower facing away from the light. That helped separate the flowers and give each own its own identity.
All done with one brush (Briston silver flat no.4) Three pale blues for the background and no less than 13 blues for the bottle!
