The softest furriest cat there ever was!
I decided to paint her in soft, subtle, peachy tones and use a similarly coloured background to make it feel delicate. The background colour is rarely pre-planned, whatever I choose brings out that colour in the fur so it’s important to get it right.
I consider it a great compliment that people are prepared to put their faith in me to produce a painting of their beloved pet when neither they nor I really know how it’s going to turn out! That’s what makes it exciting in a way as both the artist, giver and receiver.
